Climate and social impact

Driving dialogue and collective action

At the UN Council in 2023, with 200 countries as signatories, UN Chief António Gutierres declared: “It is essential to come together around real, practical, and meaningful climate solutions that match the scale of the climate crisis.” Across the social impact space, there is recognition that the changes of our time — climate change, misinformation, and the advent of AI — call for a shift from policy happening behind closed doors to creating accessible content that invites dialogue between public and private organizations, governments and NGOs worldwide to leverage resources, share best practices, and collaborate to address the major issues.

“AREA 17's Care Program has allowed us to focus on our needs and leave the site's needs to AREA 17. We determine what we'd like done, and meet weekly with AREA 17 to make it a reality.”

“AREA 17 combined a highly original exploration with a completely collaborative process, resulting in a site that was creatively spirited and user-perfect. The site gets a wow from everyone who sees it!”

“The impact of AREA 17's work with the IEA fully came to light in 2020. I can’t thank them enough for giving my team the tools we needed to respond to the crisis and collaborate remotely.”

“The new brand and website reflect the IEA’s ambition to make a difference in one of our biggest collective challenges: balancing the planet’s growing energy needs with the threat of climate change.”

“The brand value that we have created has allowed us to be immediately recognized and credible with our stated ambition.”
