In his role as creative director, Guillermo has shaped product and brand strategies and led digital product and visual identity work streams. He strives to create iconic brands and delightful digital experiences. His key engagements include Apple, NY Media Center, High Line Hotel, IBM, Arré, Roto, NYRR, and Intersection. To his strategic vision, Guillermo brings his extensive interdisciplinary design background in branding, digital product design, print design and environmental graphics.
Guillermo joined AREA 17 in 2013 as an art director. Prior to joining the New York office, he lived and worked in Milan, London, Treviso, Barcelona, and Paris. His work has been published internationally including Green Patriot Posters, Basic Identity, Vivid!, Form: Book & Promotion, Select K, Idpure magazine and IdN magazine. Across his career, Guillermo’s work has been recognized by Webby Awards, Laus Awards, and Chaumont graphic design festival. Guillermo studied graphic design at Eina School in his hometown of Barcelona and holds an MA in Graphic Design from the London College of Communication. He was awarded a Fabrica Fellowship, at the Benetton Group’s communication research center in Treviso, Italy.
His passion for contemporary art aside, Guillermo loves phở, gangster movies and shirts with lively and bold patterns.
