HARI is a France-based animation studio that brings audiences together through characters and stories, inspiring laughter and optimism. The studio has captivated international audiences with Grizzy & the Lemmings, a slapstick animated series adopted by a growing list of global partners and distributors.
HARI takes a fresh approach to animation. They create interconnected content and stories spanning TV, film, and products, setting themselves apart by seamlessly connecting characters across various narratives. As HARI approached its 20th anniversary and continued its international expansion, it came to AREA 17 to create a new brand and website reflecting its high-quality, singular content and positioning it as a global consumer-facing company in original animated family TV, film, and licensing.
HARI needed to define a visual language to distinguish their design and animation philosophy in ways that allowed them to stand out in the sector and propel them from a boutique studio to a global player.
In response, we developed an expressive color palette that reflects HARI’s optimistic creations. Anchored by a captivating yellow, the palette is composed of vibrant complementary colors that can be paired while ensuring visual accessibility.
Our choice of typography is inspired by the tall and sleek letterforms commonly found in the cinema and contributes to the vitality and energy of the brand.
As more than a behind-the-scenes production house, HARI needed to encapsulate the full scope of their practice — from creating dynamic characters to bringing compelling storylines to life to maintaining connections with audiences across age, culture, and geography.
We created a character-driven brand that acts as a connecting thread, weaving diverse characters into a single universe to help HARI articulate a distinct artistic identity, showcasing its unique creative work and full-service studio capabilities.
