Marketing Manager

As Marketing Manager, you will drive and execute the day-to-day activities that elevate our visibility and connect us to our communities. This includes directly managing and executing the planning, ideation, and development of our social media, brand campaigns, and marketing and communications efforts, ensuring brand consistency and fostering a strong brand presence.

Success in this position will be achieved through effective collaboration, innovative thinking, detailed project management, and the ability to translate our brand vision into a variety of communication products, including thought leadership, social campaigns, community newsletters, and more. 

The ideal candidate is bilingual in French and English. The position is in Paris and is primarily an English-speaking role. Please refer to the ‘What we’re looking for’ section for more details. The final title and salary for this position will be based on experience and context.

Key responsibilities

You work across all levels of our organization to ensure our global brand is accurately represented and supports our business priorities. The Marketing Manager’s direct responsibilities are outlined below with example activities:

Channel strategy, management, and analysis

  • Purpose: To ensure our owned channels, website, social media, newsletters, etc., are effectively attracting and engaging targeted users, reflecting our brand and driving business objectives.
  • Activities: Market research and trend insights, designating target audiences for content and channels, monitoring and establishing KPIs, including performance analytics, and creating and managing editorial calendars and strategies.

Content and asset creation

  • Purpose: To ensure we have a timely and evergreen content library that represents our brand and our leadership team while effectively addressing business priorities, industry trends, and opportunities.
  • Activities: Develop engaging and thoughtful content in multiple formats, including copy, images, and videos that reflect our brand guidelines and/or leadership tone of voice.

External communications, event marketing, and press placement

  • Purpose: To manage the brand’s public image and visibility to serve our brand mission and growth objectives.
  • Activities: Public relations, media relations, event marketing, promotional materials/merch, awards submissions, CRM management, and newsletter planning and execution.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a fluent English and French speaker and communicator. The position requires strong, eloquent, and confident communication in English, as this is the primary language for the role and its output. However, proficiency in French is also essential for our bilingual audience and brand voice. 

We are looking for a candidate who is local to Paris. While this is a global position in its purview, the position is located in Paris and will require regular in-person collaboration in our Paris studio. 

We are looking for a candidate with industry experience. A candidate with a background in journalism, marketing, and/or agency experience is required.

We are looking for a hands-on creator. Possessing a strong strategic point of view is a baseline requirement. A successful candidate will understand how to translate strategy into tactics and execution.

  • Campaign planning and implementation. You are an experienced and agile collaborator, able to work with creative teams to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns. You have a clear understanding of marketing channels and how to leverage them to their fullest. A strong planner, you are able to oversee the creation of brand assets and ensure campaigns are delivered on time and meet quality standards. You are able to assess the success of campaigns through comparative benchmarking and industry standards
  • Strategic storyteller and maker. You understand brand and know how to craft elegant and evocative stories. You generate ideas that captivate and engage audiences, seamlessly blending creativity with strategic intent. You understand the full context of how the content you create breaks through, whether it be an audience member's cluttered inbox or the current industry’s trends and expectations. You are able to transform your ideas into finished products, whether they be thought leadership, press releases, campaigns, or social media posts.
  • Independent self-starter. You are an autonomous powerhouse, able to work on your own and collaborate across disciplines. You take initiative, drive projects forward, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You take it upon yourself to advance your own understanding of relevant topics, including technology trends, competitor strategies, and industry opportunities. Your proactive approach ensures that you not only meet but exceed expectations, delivering exceptional results.
