Uncovering the truth to guide reckoning and repair

Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery is a university-wide initiative to understand and address the enduring legacy of slavery within the university community. It encompasses a range of scholarly and programmatic efforts, anchored by a comprehensive report that details the university’s entanglements with slavery and recommendations for redress and repair.

AREA 17 partnered with Harvard Radcliffe Institute, where the initial phase of the work was anchored, to create a dedicated platform that enables the university community and the public to understand, explore, and engage with the initiative’s foundational research.

Harvard & The Legacy of Slavery is made with Twill, our open-source CMS for Laravel.
