As Program Coordinator, Virginia provides internal coordination across the business operations and production teams while supporting seamless connections between disciplines, projects, and people via existing and expanding organizational workflows and tools. She is driven foremost by developing great relationships with people and believes that everyone has an interesting and unique story.
At AREA 17, she strives to be positive, curious, authentic, and kind — a perpetual student with the humble recognition that in this world there are infinite things to learn and that it’s cool to care. With the goal to keep things simple and organized, she disagrees with Kurt Vonnegut in Breakfast of Champions and tries to create order: “There is no order in the world around us, we must adapt ourselves to the requirements of chaos instead.”
Virginia graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in advertising and business minor in 2014. Before AREA 17, Virginia worked in New York at Oxford University Press as an Associate Marketing Manager developing best practices, digital strategy, and email marketing At Ogilvy she was involved in account management for Amazon Global and The Chemours Company. Additionally, she worked at Deutsch for Charter Spectrum, Cetaphil, Differin, and helped agency holding group IPG win the integrated ProActiv account. Virginia also worked in Austin and Houston in account management at independent advertising agencies.
Virginia is fluent in Spanish and can read Latin, likes being outdoors (birding in Prospect Park, running, hiking), art (painting, drawing, photography), music (concerts, records, guitar, piano), reading, visiting museums, and exploring used bookshops and record stores.
