An Operations Apprentice at AREA 17, Azat is interested in understanding the big picture of agency operations by getting to know different departments and how they interact with one another. He is excited to implement procedures and methodologies that shape day-to-day agency operations.
Azat recently graduated from Emerson College in Boston, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics and Media Studies, with a concentration in immigration.
He was awarded the "Arthur Butler Grant Prize'' by Emerson’s interdisciplinary Marlboro Institute for Liberal Arts and Interdisciplinary Studies, for outstanding research conducted in economics. During his undergraduate tenure, he took on many leadership roles on campus, including Vice Treasurer at Student Government Association and International Student Peer Mentor. Outside of school, Azat enrolled in business programs at Tuck Business School and Harvard Business School and took up jobs including Junior Account Planner at EmComm, a Market Research Intern at AWARE, Inc., an Operations Intern at five foot two marketing, and an HR & Operations intern at 617MediaGroup.
In his own time, Azat loves listening to music and dancing. In 2021 alone, he clocked more than 100,000 minutes spent listening to music. Azat’s family is international––his mom and sister live in Turkey, his father lives in Turkmenistan, and his brother lives in Russia. He’s picked up a lot of languages through the years, including Turkmen, Russian, English, and Turkish (not fluent though).
