Ned is a technical director, utilizing his extensive background as a full-stack developer to advise clients, lead project teams and advocate for our engineering techniques and philosophy. Working across a range of frameworks and platforms, he enjoys all levels of the stack, from system architecture, to application modelling, to interface development. His key engagements include Madame Figaro, Paris Photo, Hyper Island, Dering Hall, Doha Film Institute, Marchay, Facebook, Google, Style.com and l’Opéra national de Paris.
Ned spent most of his career as a freelance full-stack developer. In this capacity, he worked with AREA 17 in 2006 on Madame Figaro, our first project out of the newly minted Paris studio. Later, he joined the agency full-time in 2012. His interest in the humanities led him to work primarily in sectors related to arts and culture such as book publishing, theatre, typography, music, art and NGO’s. A student of the mid-90’s Internet, Ned is entirely self-taught.
Born in Australia to a family of artists, Ned was raised in France since the age of six. In his free time, he is orchestrating the transformation of an old warehouse into his new home.
